Finalize the Layout and Design

Through communication and trial and error, we will tweak the layout and design until you approve our final effort.

Add Images and Text Content

The content and images you have provided or authorized will be added to the site design. The entire site will be completed and tested as much as possible while it resides at eTelligentCreative.com.

Approve the Site

Once you are completely satisfied with the website, your final payment is due and you will then give permission to upload the site to your host and make it public. If you haven't done so already, now is the time to arrange for a place for your website to reside. We can discuss your hosting needs so that you know
what to look for when deciding on a package.

Upload and Go Live

Once I have your FTP username and password from your web host I will be able to transfer the pages and associated files (images, scripts, Flash movies, PDFs, etc) to your server.

Review and Testing

We will immediately review the pages, test all links and forms, and make sure the site is functioning properly. During the next two weeks per our agreement, while you have a chance to study your new site, you can ask for changes for no additional cost.

Market the Site

I will do the preliminary site submissions to the search engines and pertinent directories on the web. Ongoing submissions can be included in a maintenance agreement or you can do them yourself.

Maintenance

Whether it's from time to time, or on a contracted regular basis, I will be available to make changes and post updates to your site for an agreed upon fee.

Design Process

Listed below are the general steps in the website development process. Although there is flexibility along the way, this information outlines the typical flow of work, which is very much
a give-and-take process between the designer and the client...

Pick a domain name and register it.

Try to choose a domain name that is as short as possible while still conveying the nature of your product or service. A catchy, easy to remember website address is the goal. You may also want to set up your hosting with a hosting provider at this time.

Domain Registration $6.50
Web Hosting from $7.95 a month

Please note: if you are hosting with our recommended host, your domain name is included with your first year's hosting package.

Organize your information

Whether you write a formal outline or just organize things in your head, start to think about the different pages that are needed and what each will contain.

Consultation

We can meet in person or simply arrange to discuss your project over the phone or by email. Now is the time to describe the goals of your site, number of pages needed, other features such as Flash movies and forms, color scheme, and in as much detail as possible regarding your desired look and feel for your site. The more information you can provide, the better.

Proposal

Once I have enough information, I will then send you a proposal outlining costs for the project and what is included in the price.

Mock-Ups

If you accept my proposal and we agree upon a deposit for the job (usually one half to one third of the proposed price), I will then create up to three (3) test pages with various colors and layouts that will reside at eTelligentCreative.com in a private folder for viewing on the web.
